As always, I want to impress my guests. This Thanksgiving I want to impress them with the ultimate cheese platter or charcuterie board that everyone will love. It only takes minutes to assemble and can be casually arranged onto a clean cutting board or platter. The goal is to aim for simple, fresh and colorful options. Plan on an assortment of 2-3 cheeses for intimate parties of 2-6 guests. Add bigger portions or a greater assortment for larger parties.
You can use any cutting board, serving tray or platter to prepare your grazing board. I used this wooden tray with a small decorative pumpkin to make it more festive for my friendsgiving party.
For my charcuterie I kept it simple and elegant. Below is my shopping list. Feel free to switch out some of the ingredients to suite you and your guests tastes. And remember to increase the portions and add in different varieties of cheeses and meets for larger parties.
Charcuterie for 2 Shopping List
8 oz Goat Cheese
1 small block of Gruyere Cheese
1/4 lb of prosciutto
Dried Figs and Cranraisins
Mary’s Gone Crackers (I love these so much)
Kalamata Olives
Chopped Pecans
Arrange your items onto your board starting with the biggest. I first placed my cheeses on the board, then meets, followed by crackers. Then I filled in the gaps using the dried fruit and nuts. I placed the olives in a dish and served it along side my board. Click for more Fall Friendsgiving party ideas grazing board ideas.
Here is another charcuterie board that I made for my most recent gathering. I got the idea for the salami flower from YouTube. Here is a link to the video How to Make a Salami Rose. The trick was to bring the salami to room temperature before building your flower. Once you have your board laid out, pop it in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
