I tend to order a lot of mock-tails when eating out these days. In doing so, I discovered rose hip to be an ingredient in many of them. I never heard of it before, so naturally I was curious. In my research I discovered that rose hip has many nourishing and beneficial properties. One of which is that it supports skin elasticity and collagen production. Like with any new ingredient that I come across, I like to dream up ways to use them in recipes. And since I have access to ample collagen through my job at Garden of Life, it was something that I had readily available to experiment with. Keep scrolling to see what I have come up with…
This recipe is rather simple to make and whips up in minutes. I have created two versions…one more nourishing than the other.

Rose Hip & Collagen Tea Ingredients & Directions:
Make a simple syrup by combining the following ingredients into a tea cup or coffee mug:
1/4 tsp or rose hip powder
1 Tbls of Honey or Maple Syrup
1 Tbls of Pure Lemon Juice
1 Scoop of Collagen Powder
Pour about a 1 of a cup of boiling water over the mixture and stir in a scoop of collagen. I have been using GoLs Hyaluronic Acid collagen. But I’m sure that this will taste equally as delicious with their Collagen Peptides since both are flavorless.
If you want to mix it up a bit and get the healing benefits of kudzu root, read on.
Rose Hip Collagen Tea with Kudzu Root Starch Directions:
Make a simple syrup by combining the following ingredients into a tea cup or coffee mug:
1/4 tsp or rose hip powder
1 Tbls of Honey or Maple Syrup
1 Tbls of Pure Lemon Juice
1 Scoop of Garden of Life Hyaluronic Acid or Collagen Peptides
1 Tbls of Kudzu Root Starch
In a small saucepan add a cup of water and a tablespoon of dried kudzu root starch. Let it sit for about 30 seconds. This will allow the kudzu to dissolve completely into the water. Then place over medium heat and stir continuously until the kudzu becomes a little translucent. Pour the warm liquid into your simple syrup mixture and stir in some collagen. Enjoy.
Important Note: You will probably want to have several servings. It is that good. However, it is recommended to only have 1/4 teaspoon of rose hip a day. You don’t want to over do it on the kudzu either. While a little is nourishing with many medicinal properties, a lot is not so good for you.
I have not tried this recipe with our Grass Fed Collagen Beauty product yet…but I’ve tried them separately and the flavors seem to lend themselves to one another. I’m thinking that one of these days, real soon, I’m going to make a tea and let it cool and pour it over ice for a refreshing and healing mock-tail. I will let you know how it is.
Let thy food be your medicine. A dear friend told once told me this and it stuck.
