Hi everyone. I hope you are all staying healthy during these times. I know many are taking this time to explore and pursue their dream of opening their own business. That is what I did when the market tanked in 2008 and I found myself without a job during a really tough economy. Keep scrolling to read my words of wisdom…
One of the things that I have learned when starting my business is that doing something I am really passionate about makes it worthwhile. We will experience moments of elation and we will also experience defeats. Our passion is what helps push us through those moments when we feel defeated.
Knowing that our mistakes can teach us something new. We have all heard that Thomas Edison failed 999 times when inventing the lightbulb. Some say that he learned 999 ways how not to make a lightbulb. Can you imagine if he did not have the passion to try one more time? We would all be sitting in the dark right now.
Another thing to remember when embarking on this journey is to set small goals and spend time celebrating your accomplishments once you have reached them. All too often we have a tendency to overlook those milestones and keep pushing forward until we burn out. …setting ourselves up for failure. Remembering that it is more about the journey than it is about the destination will bring us more success on so many levels.
Having great marketing materials is terrific too. It shows that you believe enough in your business to invest in it. If you have that kind of faith in you, then so will others. Business cards are one of the most cost effective ways of marketing your business. My business cards are designed using my original watercolor artwork. They are then printed in rich color on quality card stalk. To see my complete line visit Do Tell a Belle on Zazzle at www.zazzle.com/dotellabelle
